James Grieve has come to live with us,
We hope he will be happy,
He’ll dig his feet into the earth,
His branches will grow sappy.
And when they have grown big and strong,
And arms are filled with flowers,
The bees will visit in the Spring,
Then Autumn fruit-filled bowers.
A long and happy life to you,
May all who see you smile,
And marvel at your graceful form,
Please stay with us a while.
